Overview
Seaton is a sheltered beach break that comes into its own when nearby Whitsands is too big to surf. Waves break over a mix of uneven reef and sand and peel as both lefts and rights. With the road running right along the back of the beach, it is easy to pull up and check the conditions before you paddle out.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from southwest through southeast (SW-SE), with a southwest swell the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast offshore wind to keep the faces clean. Seaton breaks on low and mid tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call.
Access
You will find free roadside parking along the back of the beach, plus restrooms on hand.
