Overview
Shishikui is a typical city beachbreak, with a spread of peaks breaking outside the longshore seawalls over sand. The banks throw both lefts and rights, so there's usually a peak to pick from depending on where the sand is sitting.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from east through south (E-S), with southeast (SE) the best match. The peaks suck in and reward a bit of size, working from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. It's a consistent stretch of coast, so you can usually count on finding something to ride.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind to clean up the peaks. Low tide is the call here, and a rising tide is generally the better window.
Local Tips
The mellow beachbreak peaks make this a friendly place to learn, so it suits beginners well. Expect a very busy lineup when it's working, so settle on a quieter peak and stay aware of the surfers around you.

You'll find full city facilities close by, including restrooms, showers, and a lifeguard, plus a surf school if you want lessons. Parking is easy to sort out, with a paid car park and roadside spaces available.
