Overview
Sinclairs Bay is a high-quality beachbreak you can scope straight from the A9. A rivermouth shapes the banks in the middle of the beach, giving both lefts and rights that break over sand.
When It Works
The bay draws swell from northeast through southeast, with northeast (NE) swell the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. Consistency can be hit or miss, but the right swell brings the banks to life.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind to clean it up, and keep in mind the south end of the beach finds more shelter when the wind is up. It works across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet even when it's on.
Access
There's roadside parking and a car park, and you can pull in at the end of the lanes running down to the beach.
