Overview
Stuart Rocks is a Florida beachbreak that turns the right swell into good, hollow lefts along with some rights. A spread of take-off spots keeps the peaks scattered rather than stacked on a single bank, which helps disperse a large and talented local crew. It's the kind of spot people will drive a long way to surf.
When It Works
The peaks draw swell from north through east-northeast to southeast (N-ENE-SE), with northeast (NE) the best match. It handles size well and is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft. Waves break over sand and peel both left and right.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind. Every tide gets surfed here, but a rising tide — low on the incoming — is the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. With people traveling in to surf it, there's a real pecking order in the lineup, so take time to read the peaks before you commit. Jetskis are a factor too, since the St Lucie Inlet sits only about a mile to the south.
Access
Parking is tight. There's a roadside shoulder directly in front of the break, plus a car park with free parking just to the south, where you'll also find restrooms, showers, and a lifeguard.
