Overview
Sunyatsen Beach is a short, bodyboard-style shorebreak in Kaohsiung, sitting right in front of the university. The waves break over sand and peel both left and right, making it an easygoing beach break rather than a long, drawn-out wave.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from southwest through northwest, with southwest (SW) swell the best match. Summer southwest swells are the main window, though consistency runs low to medium and the spot can be somewhat inconsistent overall. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind. The beach can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The waves suit intermediate surfers, and the lineup usually stays fairly quiet.

You'll find roadside parking as well as a car park.
