Overview
Surfies Point is a right-hand point that breaks over uneven reef and comes alive on bigger swells. The peak can wander, and once it pushes to double overhead it turns into a real rush, feeding into longish, well-mannered walls that spoke around the point toward the beachbreaks of Surf Beach. Down in the corner a throaty left can form, tubing hard when there's size, otherwise it's rolling corners running down the beach.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southeast through south, with southeast (SE) the best match, though a touch more south and even a little east in the swell helps the big drops link through to the inside. It's usable from 1.5 m / 5 ft to 4.6 m / 15 ft and is moderately consistent.
Wind and Tide
Look for a north offshore wind. Surfies works through low and mid tide, with a rising tide the better call. Rocks pop up at low tide, but they give plenty of warning.
Local Tips
Expect a busy lineup when it's on. It stays well within range for most intermediates until it gets too big, and it's a far safer option than nearby Express Point.
