Swift Street surf guide

Swift Street is a surf spot located outside of Stockton Ave. This place has a unique vibe thanks to its setting along a rugged and rocky beach in a residential area. It feels a bit remote, and you might just spot some seals hanging out nearby. It tends to be less crowded compared to the more popular Stockton spot, making it a decent choice if you're looking to avoid the masses.

This right-hand reef break works best during large winter swells, and it's good to know that you need some decent size to get it going—generally overhead (around 2.4 meters). Swift Street is known for handling swell sizes up to 8 feet (about 2.4 meters), with optimal swell coming from the west and also accepting swells from the south and north. When the conditions are right, you'll find it produces nice right-breaking waves. The preferred wind comes from the northeast, and surf is enjoyable over low, mid, and high tides, though the best sessions usually happen at lower tide. This spot is suitable for intermediate surfers looking to ride a solid wave.

Keep in mind that the break works over an uneven reef, so it can be tricky at times. Make sure to check the swell and wind conditions before heading out, as the quality of the wave can vary greatly depending on what’s happening in the ocean.
