Tafadna is a remote fishing port located about 80 km south of Essaouira. It’s known for its right point break that works nicely in the shelter of a large cape. Along the beach, there are also peaks that stretch down to and beyond the river mouth, offering a bit more variety for surfers looking to catch some waves in the area.

This spot works best with swells coming from the Southwest or the North and can handle swell sizes starting at around 2 feet (0.6 meters), up to larger days. The waves break over uneven reef and sand, and you can expect a point setup with mainly right-handers. For the best experience, aim to surf during mid tide, especially when winds are blowing from the east. Tafadna suits intermediate surfers who want to sharpen their skills and enjoy some less crowded waves.

The environment around Tafadna is quite natural, providing a laid-back surf experience without much built up around it. The access road can be tough to navigate, so prepare for a bumpy ride in. Be ready to enjoy the simplicity of a less commercialized surf spot.
