Located just around the corner from Mystos, The Fort is a surf spot named after Fort Ross State Park. It offers a unique break that can be a bit tricky due to the rocky reef. This left-hander is best for surfers looking for a challenge, especially when South swells roll in at high tides. On days when the conditions come together, it can provide decent waves, but be prepared for some surprises.

The Fort works best with South and North swell directions, handling sizes from about 2 ft (0.6 m) and up. Surfers will find that the waves break over an uneven reef, which can create some gobs of boils and unexpected double-ups, particularly at lower tides. If you're not careful, you might also encounter some odd sucking sections that can catch you off guard. For the best results, aim for high tide with a light NorthEast wind. Surfing here can be a bit of a gamble, so make sure you're ready for whatever the day throws at you.
