Overview
The Wall is a punchy right-hand reef at Punta Rosarito, where the west-facing reefs are so consistent the spot earned its nickname. Waves break over an uneven reef, so there is plenty of power on tap.
When It Works
It draws swell from west to northwest, with a west swell the best match. Consistency is a real strength here, so rideable days come around often, and it is surfable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast offshore wind, but keep in mind the wind can turn too strong to surf these exposed reefs even when it is blowing offshore. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The Wall suits intermediate surfers best, and you can expect a moderately busy lineup when it is on.
Access
There is camping among the rock wall windbreaks, and parking is free.
