Tiririca surf guide

Tiririca is the main surf spot in Itacaré, located just a 10-minute walk from downtown. Known for its consistently good waves, it attracts both locals and visitors. This beach has a reputation for being a competitive spot, often hosting regional and state championships. It stands out among the 12 beaches in the area, as its quality and consistency make it a go-to for surfers.

The surf at Tiririca can handle swell sizes from about 1.2 meters (4 ft) to 2.1 meters (7 ft) and works best with swells coming from the East and South. You'll find both left and right-hand waves breaking over sand, making it suitable for intermediate surfers. The optimal conditions happen with a calm or offshore wind from the West and can break well at low, mid, or high tides. While the rides are generally short and break close to the shore, the waves can be quite barreling, especially when the swell is in the right range, giving a fun, if not intense, surf experience.

Access to Tiririca is easy, and while it can get crowded, the vibe is usually cool and not aggressive. Just be aware of some rocks in the corners that can catch you off guard. Overall, if you’re looking for a solid spot to surf in Itacaré, Tiririca is definitely worth checking out, especially in the autumn and winter months when it tends to be at its best.
