Overview
Torra Bay is an average, often messy beachbreak that breaks over a mix of uneven reef and sand, offering up both lefts and rights. When a swell kicks in and the wind stays light, a highly fickle right point can line up at the southern end of the beach.
When It Works
The beachbreak takes swell from the southwest through to the west, and it works best on a southwest swell. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, though small, glassy conditions give the best chance of scoring a wave.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east offshore wind to clean things up. Torra Bay can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
It's a spot best suited to intermediate surfers.
