Overview
Trestraou is a hollow beachbreak set right in the city of Perros-Guirec. Its tucked-in, northeast-facing position means it comes alive during westerly storms, breaking over sand with waves running both left and right.
When It Works
The spot draws swell from west to north (W-N), with west (W) the best match. It is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft and is moderately consistent. When the swell gets big, an outside reef peak rears up to offer some rights.
Wind and Tide
Look for a west (W) offshore wind. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Trestraou suits intermediate surfers, and you can expect a busy lineup when it's on. Just to the east, the pocket beach of Pors Nevez holds an inconsistent, often crowded righthander over rock and sand that wants more south in the wind and low to mid tide.
Access
You'll find restrooms, showers, camping, a lifeguard, a surf school, and a surf shop, along with the full spread of city beach facilities. Parking runs from a car park with free parking to paid parking and roadside spots. From here you can also reach the Seven Isles bird sanctuary and the pink granite cliffs towards Ploumanac'h.
