Overview
Triangulo is a mellow beach break in the Agua Dulce area, breaking over boulders. It sits very protected from both swell and wind, so it serves up soft, rolling peaks and tends to be the one to check when the other nearby beaches are closed out. It doesn't break well very often, but when it does, it's an easy, forgiving wave.
When It Works
Triangulo draws swell from south through west-southwest to northwest, and comes into its own on a southwest (SW) swell. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Both lefts and rights peel through when it's breaking. Consistency is on the low-to-medium side, so it can be inconsistent, and it really only turns on when the surf is too big further north.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The soft, forgiving peaks make Triangulo a good option for beginners. Expect a moderately busy lineup, and it fills in more on the rare days it's actually working.
Access
There are restrooms, a lifeguard, and a surf school on hand. Parking is easy, with a car park offering free parking alongside paid and roadside options.
