Verdicio is a consistent, medium-quality beachbreak with several peaks breaking over sand, throwing both lefts and rights. A few rocky outcrops sit around the break, so it pays to know where they are. Despite being close to Avilés and Gijón, it stays reasonably quiet and uncrowded, and the water is relatively clean.
When It Works
The break draws swell from west through north (W-N), and it comes together best on a northwest (NW) swell. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there is a decent working window once a proper swell fills in. Being a consistent beachbreak, it picks up plenty of surf through the season, with the several peaks giving you room to spread out.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southeast (SE) offshore wind to clean up the faces. The break works through low tide and mid tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call, with the sharpest waves showing at low.

The peaks here suit intermediate surfers comfortably.

Parking is easy, with both free and paid options nearby, and there is a lifeguard on the beach.
