Overview
Vero Beach Pier is a sand-bottom beachbreak on a straight stretch of the coast, offering both lefts and rights. The pier itself has gone, and most of the good sandbars went with it, so the setup here is a shadow of what it once was.
When It Works
The break draws swell from north through east-northeast to southeast, with a northeast (NE) swell the best match. It is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, working through small, mellow days up to solid, chest-and-overhead surf.
Wind and Tide
Look for a west (W) offshore wind to clean up the faces. The bank comes in on mid tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call.

Access
You will find restrooms, showers, and a surf shop nearby. There is a car park with free parking, though spaces are restricted, and expect a decent walk to the sand from the public car parks north or south of the old pier.
