Vesi Passage is a left-hand reef break on Fiji's Great Astrolabe Reef, one of three main passes here worth considering. The wave peels over live coral.

When It Works

The pass draws swell from southwest through southeast, with southwest (SW) the best direction, and it wants some wrapping SW swell to come alive. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. Consistency is patchy, so it can be inconsistent, but it rewards you when the setup lines up.

Wind and Tide

This is a spot for the rare northwest (NW) offshore wind, which is what gets the left going. It can break through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
