Viligili is a right-hand reef break in Gaafu Alifu, part of North Huvadhoo Atoll in the Maldives. It's one of a scattered handful of quality waves in the area, alongside nearby Koodoo, and the wave peels over dead coral.
When It Works
Viligili draws swell from southeast to south, and it works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. Consistency is moderate, so expect worthwhile windows when the setup lines up rather than surf every single day.
Wind and Tide
Look for west offshore wind. The reef can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers, and you can expect a fairly quiet lineup when it's on.
Access
Viligili gets surfed mostly from boats running to and from Male. The setting is idyllic, out in the doldrums, but the sea can turn rough, especially crossing the One and a Half Degree Channel.
