Overview
Virgin Creek is the most surfed break in the Fort Bragg area, a small cove that throws up quality peaks over a soft, sandy bottom. Wedgy rights peel into a channel, while the lefts tend to section more. Watch the rocks on the inside, and be aware that it can be quite sharky.
When It Works
This beachbreak cove picks up swell from south to north (S-N) and offers up both lefts and rights. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, giving you a wide window of usable sizes to play with.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind to clean things up. The cove is best around mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Access
You'll find Virgin Creek just north of Airport Road at the northernmost end of Fort Bragg. Park in the wide dirt lot across the street from the Fort Bragg City Limits sign.
