Ward Avenue is a peaky, rocky beachbreak just north of Cleone, with waves breaking over a mix of rock ledge and sand. It throws up both lefts and rights off the peaks.
When It Works
The break pulls in swell across a wide window, working with anything from the south through to the north. It stays usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft, and it holds up well in small swells thanks to its high consistency. Think of it as a summer and early autumn spot.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind to clean things up. It's best on mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The lineup is rarely crowded, so you can usually spread out and pick off the peaks in peace.
