White Sands surf guide

White Sands is a beach break that offers a unique surf experience along the coastline. It’s located near a cement works, which gives it a distinct vibe. The sand is mixed with boulders in some areas, so it's a good idea to keep your eyes peeled while you're out there. The spot can be quite rippy and rocky, which makes it interesting but also unpredictable.

The surf here is generally hollow and fast, but it can be fickle at times. The optimal swell direction is from the NorthEast, with workable conditions also coming from the East. It can handle swell sizes starting at 2ft (around 0.6 meters), making it suitable for intermediate surfers looking to challenge themselves. You can catch both left and right waves depending on the conditions, and the best time to hit it is during mid to high tides when the waves get more manageable. For a smoother ride, SouthWest winds are preferable.

When you're out at White Sands, be aware that the conditions can change quickly, and the mix of sand and boulders can create a bit of unpredictability with the rips. Stay aware of the tide heights and wind directions to get the best out of your surf session.
