Overview
Zambujeria do Mar sits right at the bottom of the Alentejo, where a small seaside town overlooks a sandy beachbreak with both lefts and rights. The standout wave is a left wedge that breaks off the cliffs at the southern end of the beach.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from southwest through north (SW-N), with northwest (NW) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and cannot take much swell, so it maxes out quickly once things get bigger.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east (E) offshore wind, and the cliffs provide welcome shelter when the wind swings south. The wedge favours low to mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a wave for intermediate surfers, and the lineup stays quiet, with few crowds apart from the free-campers.
Access
There's a car park with free parking as well as roadside parking, and the beach has showers, a lifeguard, and camping.
