Overview
Zubair's is a right-hand reef break near the harbour, named after the local surfer who rides it. It's a fake pass, a cut in the reef that throws up occasional rights, and the wave breaks over dead coral.
When It Works
Zubair's draws swell from east through south, with southeast (SE) swell the best match. The reef is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.5 m / 5 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for southwest (SW) offshore wind, which is what cleans up the rights here. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Thanks to how hard it is to reach, you'll rarely have to share the lineup.
Access
There's no option to stay overnight, and a speedboat return trip runs about $800, so getting out here takes real commitment.
