Overview
365's is a kelp-choked slab of reef just down from The Kom, and it earns its name from a wedging barrel so round it is supposedly more than 360 degrees. This is a heavy right with an occasional left, breaking over uneven reef, and it draws comparisons with Pipeline for both tube time and danger.
When It Works
The wave turns on for barrel perfection in moderate west swells. It draws swell from south through west, with west (W) the best match, and it stays fairly consistent when the setup lines up. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3.7 m / 12 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind, the Berg winds that pair with a moderate west swell to bring the barrels to life. It needs some tide to make life easier, so although it can work through most of the tide, a rising tide is the better call.
Local Tips
This is a full-on, experts-only slab that is no place to learn. Expect a fairly quiet lineup when it is breaking.
