Ansedonia - La Sinistra is a long left-hand point break and the southernmost surf spot in Tuscany, sitting just north of the village along the SS. 1 Aurelia. The wave peels over boulders, giving it a classic, drawn-out point shape.
When It Works
The point picks up swell from southeast to south (SE-S), with a south (S) swell the best match. It needs a solid SE or S swell to get going, and works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. Even when the wind turns moderately onshore, it stays surfable.
Wind and Tide
Look for offshore wind out of the north (N). The point can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a good fit for intermediate surfers, and the lineup can get busy at times. Keep an eye out for currents, sea urchins, and rocky boils over the boulder bottom. Water quality is good.
Access
There's free roadside parking close by. Several other peaks break along the beach further north if you want more options, and the Costa Etrusca Surf Club (339 2996097) can share current wave info.
