Baggies is a punchy beach break in the middle of Warner Beach, throwing up various peaks up and down the sand that break both left and right. It works over a mix of uneven reef and sand, and with an easygoing, forgiving feel it suits beginners looking to find their feet.
When It Works
Baggies draws swell from southwest through north to northeast, with southeast (SE) the optimal direction. It comes alive on head-high swells and stays reliably consistent, and it will also take northeast swells that wrap around the rocks in the middle of the beach. The break is usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind, though the break also stays punchy on any westerly wind, giving you a decent workable wind window. It breaks across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a friendly spot for beginners, but expect a busy lineup with a large local crowd when it turns on. Weekends in particular draw the numbers, so plan for company in the water.
