Baie des Singes is a 7 km stretch of beach break peppered with peaks, breaking over sand with both lefts and rights. It's a fast wave, and the shifting sandbars regularly serve up perfect low-tide barrels.
When It Works
The bay draws swell from east through south to southwest, with south swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, and it's a consistent spot, so you'll usually find a rideable peak somewhere along the beach.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind, though it's good enough to ride five days a week in a north or northeast wind. The bank comes in across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a beginner-friendly spot with a fairly quiet lineup, and its scattering of peaks also makes it a draw for windsurfing and kitesurfing. It's the town beach hangout for local surfers.
