Overview
Ballybunion - Right is a right-hand point that peels over sand at the north end of the beach. The take-off is tight and wedgy right next to the cliff, but make the drop and you're launched into a fun, long, walled-up wall down the point.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest through northwest, with west (W) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there's a decent window before it gets too small or too big to hold shape.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind to clean it up. The wave comes in on mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The local crew here is tight, so paddle out with respect.
Access
Park in town, where you'll find a car park with free parking as well as roadside spots. Keep a close eye on the cliff and the caves.
