Overview
Baluk Beach is a sand-bottomed beachbreak throwing up both lefts and rights, though it isn't really one to plan a trip around. The slope is flat and the waves come through junky more often than not. Its main claim to fame is hosting the Monsoon Madness windsurf event back in 2004.
When It Works
The bank draws swell from the north through east, with northeast (NE) the direction that lines it up best. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft, breaking over sand the whole way through.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind to tidy up the faces. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one is best suited to beginners. Surfers finding their feet at the surrounding resorts are the most likely to get a fun session out of it.
