Boca Tusubres is a sand-bottomed river-mouth break that peels both left and right. Walk down to the sand and you'll often find empty, virgin peaks, with the bigger, punchier waves showing on the lower tides. Because this is a rivermouth, the water runs murky and brown where the river meets the sea.
When It Works
The peak draws swell from northwest through north to southeast, with a southwest swell the best match. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there's plenty of working range on offer. Consistency is moderate, meaning you'll find reliable windows rather than waves every single day, and the lower tides tend to serve up the cleaner, punchier peaks.
Wind and Tide
Look for a northeast offshore wind to groom the faces. It breaks on low and mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
