Overview
Buffalo Point is a right-hand point that breaks over a mix of boulders and sand. It's one of the more consistent waves around and usually has something to ride. Keep an eye out for large fish while you're out there.
When It Works
The point draws swell from east through south to southwest (E-S-SW), with south the best match, and works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 3 m / 10 ft. It won't show its true potential until there's some east in the swell. The long, quality rides tend to arrive on a moderate southeast swell paired with a westerly wind. A southwest swell and wind will still get it going, but expect a messier, shorter ride without that standout quality.
Wind and Tide
The workable offshore direction is northeast. It breaks across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
Buffalo Point suits intermediate surfers, and you can expect a moderately busy lineup when it's working.
