When It Works
Cap Sim draws swell from southwest through north (SW-N), and it comes together best on a northwest swell. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft, so there's a decent working window when the size cooperates.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east offshore wind to groom the faces. The point is at its best around mid tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.

Access
Getting to Cap Sim is a commitment: a bumpy off-road drive followed by a long walk to track down the points, and there are no facilities once you're out there. Localism is a possibility, and thieves are known to operate in the area, so keep a close eye on your gear.
