Cape Three Points is a right-hand point that grabs the most swell going and bends it onto the main point for a mellow right slide that intermediate surfers and longboarders will love. The wave breaks over a mix of rock ledge and sand. Out on the west side of the lighthouse there's a left when the swell gets big, and the beachbreak stretching east is usually very fast, running up to an inconsistent left point and reef. Nearby Prince's Town adds a rivermouth to the west and more beachbreak in front of the lagoon.
When It Works
The point draws swell from southwest through southeast, with south (S) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 2.4 m / 8 ft. Consistency is moderate, so expect worthwhile windows when the setup lines up rather than waves every day.
Wind and Tide
Look for north (N) offshore wind. The point can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate-friendly wave, and the mellow right is a natural fit for longboarders. Expect a fairly quiet lineup when it's on.
