Overview
Club Raro is a right-hand reef break that peels over live coral. The line-up is ill-defined, and crossing the straight reef line you stand a good chance of taking a few on the head, so it rewards surfers who can read the setup.
When It Works
The reef off Club Raro regularly turns out good rights and often comes alive in smaller north swells. It draws swell from northwest through north to east, with northeast (NE) swell the best match, and it works from 1.2 m / 4 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Consistency is moderate rather than day-in, day-out.
Wind and Tide
Look for a southwest (SW) offshore wind. The reef breaks on mid and high tide, with a rising tide the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-level wave, best suited to confident surfers comfortable over live coral. The line-up stays fairly quiet, so there's rarely a battle for waves when it's working.
Access
There's free roadside parking nearby.
