Country Club surf guide

Country Club, previously known as Africa Beach, is located near the Golf Course. This spot offers surfers a chance to enjoy some waves, especially when the wind is calm. The surf tends to be better with S swells, but can get challenging when the onshores kick in or if there's longshore drift. The area stretches from the casino to the Mgeni river mouth, providing a decent shorebreak when conditions line up right.

At the river mouth, surfers can find both left and right waves, making it a suitable spot for various skill levels, especially beginners. The best time to surf here is during low to mid tide, and the waves usually handle sizes up to around 2 feet (0.6 meters). East is the ideal swell direction, but it can also work with waves coming from the NorthEast and SouthWest. This beach break typically rolls over sand, but watch out for strong rips and a few jet-skis cruising around.

While it’s a fun place for beginners to get their feet wet, keep in mind that the water can be a bit sharky near the rivermouth. It’s a good idea to stay aware of your surroundings. If there’s good swell and the wind is blowing from the west, you'll find more consistent rides. Just remember to stay safe and enjoy the session!
