Overview
Crowd Control is a coral reef break that lets you pick off a few peaks between Pools and Garbanzo. The lineup is shifty and throws the odd bomb, breaking both left and right over live coral. True to the name, the trade-off for slightly lower quality is a thinner crowd.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from northeast through southeast (NE-SE), with northeast (NE) the best match. It's usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 3 m / 10 ft and stays moderately consistent.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest (NW) offshore wind. Crowd Control breaks through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The wave suits intermediate surfers, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet when it's on.
Access
There's free roadside parking nearby.
