Cupe surf guide

Cupe is a surf spot located just south of the 1km (0.6mi) long jetty at Porto de Suape. It features a consistent, long stretch of beach, which can handle a decent crowd of surfers. The atmosphere here is relaxed, but you can expect to see a regular local crew out in the water. While it’s not the most secluded spot, there’s usually room to move around, especially if you time your sessions right.

The surf at Cupe works well with swells coming from the Southeast, but you can also catch waves from the East and South. It handles swell sizes starting at around 2ft (0.6m) and breaks over sand, making it pretty beginner-friendly. The waves here are mostly beach breaks, with both left and right waves available. For the best experience, aim for low to mid tide, and if the wind is coming from the Northwest, you'll find even better conditions.

Overall, while Cupe can have moments of fun, don’t expect it to be totally empty or epic. It’s good for those just getting into surfing as well as more experienced surfers looking for a chill session. Make sure to check the tides and wind conditions before heading out to maximize your surf time!
