Overview
Dique is a shallow, urchin-covered reef and point just north of Santana village, and many surfers simply call it Santana. Facing southeast, it serves up hollow right-handers that peel over an uneven reef.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from south to southwest, with south the optimal direction, and is usable from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. Its southeast-facing setup picks up most swells and focuses them on the curving offshore reef, so it stays moderately consistent.
Wind and Tide
Look for a west offshore wind. It can work across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an expert-only wave, with the shallow, urchin-covered reef leaving little room for error. The lineup stays quiet, though it draws a dedicated local crew when it's on.
Access
Dique is much easier to reach than nearby Radiation Point.
