El Farasa is a shifty beachbreak at the east end of the Maamoura resort town, breaking over sand and throwing up both lefts and rights. The peaks tend to move around, and strong, vicious currents run through the lineup.
When It Works
The beach draws swell from the west through northwest (W-NW), with northwest (NW) swell the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.2 m / 4 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for southeast (SE) offshore wind. The bank can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. With shifting peaks and strong currents to read, it rewards paddling out with a bit of experience under your belt.
