Overview
Faro de Calaburra is one of the better breaks along this stretch of the Andalucian coast, peeling both left and right over a mix of boulders and sand. When it turns on, it delivers decent power and clean shape, and it's at its best on east swells.
When It Works
The spot draws swell from east through south, with east (E) swell the best match for both power and shape. It's usable from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind to clean up the faces. It can work through most of the tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is an intermediate-friendly wave, though the shallow, rocky bottom means you'll want to take care in the lineup. Bright street lights make night sessions possible, and you can expect the occasional crowd when it's working.
Access
You'll find it along the coast road between Fuengirola and Marbella. Roadside parking sits right by the break.
