Overview
Fiji, also known as Boulders, sits at the north end of town and breaks over a mix of uneven reef and sand. It picks up both lefts and rights and comes into its own on smaller swells with light winds.
When It Works
The break draws swell from south through west, with a southwest swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and stays moderately consistent, so decent days turn up without being a sure thing every session.
Wind and Tide
Look for an east offshore wind to clean it up. It breaks on mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a friendly spot for beginners, and the lineup tends to stay fairly quiet when it's working.
Access
There's camping close by, with the Mile 4 Camping site a cheap place to stay near the break.
