Tiger Reef surf guide

Tiger Reef is located on the edge of town and is known for its uneven reef and sand breaks. It offers a mix of peaks that can cater to surfers looking for a session without needing to travel too far. The vibe here is pretty laid-back, making it a decent spot for some casual surfing.

This spot works best with swell coming from the SouthWest, but it can also handle South and West swells. It typically holds up well with wave sizes around 3 feet (about 1 meter). You can find both left and right waves here, but it’s worth noting that the quality can be hit or miss. The best time to surf is during low to mid or high tides, especially when the wind is coming from the East. It’s more suited for intermediate surfers who are comfortable navigating different kinds of waves.

Besides the surf, keep an eye out for the local surf culture, which can add a nice touch to your day at the beach. Since it’s close to the rivermouth and the local hangout spots, you can easily unwind or grab a bite after your session. Just remember that conditions can change, so always check before heading out.
