Overview
Foum Labouir is the most popular spot in Dakhla, a right-hand point that breaks reliably in almost any swell over a mix of uneven reef and sand, with several sections that suit a range of abilities. Around the front of the point, a wind-exposed first section can fire you through to the more popular take-off at the corner, which walls up along a line of rock and sand for open-face carves and shoulder rebounds before petering out into the beachbreak. The end section sits better protected from the howling wind behind a low cliff.
When It Works
A consistent break, Foum Labouir draws swell from west to north (W-N) and comes into its best on a northwest (NW) swell. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 3 m / 10 ft, so there's a rideable wave across a wide spread of sizes.
Wind and Tide
Look for east (E) offshore wind to clean it up. The point works through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
It's best suited to intermediates, though the spread of sections keeps most abilities happy, and it turns beginner friendly when small. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on. A decent drift runs down the point, but at low tide it's easy to walk back along the exposed sandbar. Keep an eye out for some nasty rocks further in.
Access
There's camping nearby, with free roadside parking.
