Icarai surf guide

Icarai is a surf spot located in Ceara, known for its beachbreaks that can produce decent waves. It’s a popular place for both local and visiting surfers, thanks to its consistent conditions. The area is lively and often attracts a good crowd, so expect to share the waves with others, especially when conditions are right.

The surf here is suitable for beginners, with wave sizes that can handle anything from 1ft (about 0.3 meters) and up. The best swell direction is from the Northeast, but it can also pick up swells from the Northwest and East. The beach offers left and right breaking waves, giving surfers a chance to choose their preferred ride. Icarai works well at low, mid, and high tides, so no matter when you show up, there’s a chance for some enjoyable surfing, especially if the wind is coming from the Southwest.

Along with being a regular site for WQS contests, Icarai’s wave conditions can produce short, sucky barrels now and then, but don’t expect amazing barrel rides all the time, as close-outs happen frequently. If you’re looking to surf here, just be ready for a mixed bag of waves that might keep you entertained, though not every session will be epic.
