Overview
Indian River Northside is a sand-bottom right-hander that breaks well out and reels long, rolling walls that stand up through the inside section. It can get big without ever turning heavy, which keeps it approachable even as the size builds.
When It Works
The break draws swell from northeast through east-southeast to south, with an east (E) swell the best match. It works from 0.6 m / 2 ft to 4.6 m / 15 ft, giving it a wide working window across both small and large days. Sand constantly pumping out of the inlet keeps reshaping the bars, and the spot stays consistent.
Wind and Tide
Look for a west (W) offshore wind to groom the faces. The bars come to life across low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This is a popular longboard playground, so expect a busy lineup when it's on. Keep an eye out for the occasional sea-lice and potential sewage issues.
Access
There's a car park with both free and paid parking. Facilities include restrooms, showers, camping, and a lifeguard on hand.
