Jodugullapullam surf guide

Jodugullapullam is an exposed beachbreak that can be a bit tricky to get to. It’s tucked away, and getting there involves a dirt track off Beach Rd. This makes for a longer journey because the river curves, which might not be the best for everyone looking for a quick surf session. Once you arrive, you’ll find a laid-back beach atmosphere, perfect for those who enjoy a more secluded spot.

This place works best with a southeast swell and can pick up waves from northeast and southwest as well. It handles swell sizes starting from about 1ft (0.3 meters) and breaks over sand, so you don’t have to worry about rocks ruining your session. The waves are beach breaks with both left and right options available. If you're catching waves here, you’ll want to surf during low to mid, or even high tide for the best results. A west wind is preferable, making those surfing conditions much more enjoyable. It’s a decent spot for beginners to get their feet wet, literally.

Keep in mind that the potential left off the jetty to the north can be a fun spot for goofy footers. Since it’s a beach break, conditions can change quickly, so always keep an eye on the surf and know your limits. Enjoy your time at Jodugullapullam!
