Overview
Rushikonda is a right-hand point that breaks over sand along the area's number one tourist beach. The beach itself is clean and well kept, but the surf set-up works against it, pushing incoming swell too wide onto ever-shifting outside sandbanks. Those banks move around, so the wave rarely lines up the same way twice.
When It Works
Rushikonda draws swell from southwest through north to northeast (SW-N-NE), with northeast (NE) the best match. It works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft and is moderately consistent, so you will find workable days without it turning on every time.
Wind and Tide
Look for west (W) offshore wind to clean it up. It can work through low, mid, and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
The lineup stays quiet, so you should have plenty of room when it is breaking.
Access
Good facilities and restaurants sit right by the beach, making it an easy place to eat and hang out between sessions.
