Keurbooms is an exposed beachbreak set in stunning scenery up by the rivermouth, where you might share the lefts and rights with a school of local dolphins. The waves peel both ways over sand.
When It Works
Keurbooms is at its best on a small, clean swell. It draws swell from east through south to southwest (E-S-SW), with southeast swell the best match, and works from 0.3 m / 1 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. It's a consistent spot, reliable unless the wind or swell turns too strong.
Wind and Tide
Look for northwest offshore wind, and pick a calm, wind-free window for the cleanest surf. The break tends to favour higher water, working through mid and high tide, with a rising tide generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Expect a moderately busy lineup when it's on.
