Located at the mouth of the Marokopa River, Kiritehere is a sectiony left point with powerful walls at higher tides.

Kiritehere is located on the west coast of Waikato, not far from taharoa, south of Kawhia Harbour. From Hamilton head west on Massey Street, then left onto Tukikaramea Road, out of Hamilton. Turn left onto Kakaramea Road, State Highway 39, heading south. Turn right onto Manipoto Street, State Highway 3. Turn right onto Waitomo Caves Road, State Highway 37. Continue onto Te Anga Road and onto Marokopa Road. Turn left onto Mangatoa Road. Turn right onto Soundy Road. Find Kiritehere beach when you cross the Rararimu Stream.

Both Kiritihere and the adjacent Marokopa Beach can have thumping beachies if the wind isn't into it.
