Overview
La Izquierda del Muelle is a long left that peels over a slab reef in front of the old harbour in Arinaga. Swell reaches it only now and then, but the quality on the good days makes up for the wait. There's also a right working across the bay if you want an alternative peak.
When It Works
The reef draws swell from northeast to east (NE-E), with an east (E) swell the best match for that long left. It works from 0.9 m / 3 ft to 1.8 m / 6 ft. On the standout days the left throws good barrels, though the low swell frequency means you'll want to time your window when the setup lines up.
Wind and Tide
Look for northeast (NE) offshore wind, which is also the direction that produces the best barrels here. The reef is best on mid tide, and a rising tide is generally the better call.
Local Tips
This one suits intermediate surfers. Expect a busy lineup, as the spot is almost always full when it's on.
Access
There's a car park close by. Bear in mind the water can get polluted by boats moving in and out of Arinaga port.
